Vehicles in Germany's City Found Covered with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Around 50 automobiles have been marked with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Automobiles, walls and mailboxes were marked, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a release.

Officers report they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday, when a resident discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued substance.

The liquid had been applied in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they added.

Law enforcement then discovered many other vandalized automobiles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under legislation banning the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.

Law enforcement say initial examinations indicate the liquid was probably human bodily fluid.

"There is still no indication as to its origin; authorities are not yet cognizant of any physical harm in association with the event," they commented.

Local authorities announced they were working "to resolve the mystery" and have appealed to the public for tips.

A senior official commented the incident rendered him without words and had to be solved promptly.

"This event hits the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on social media, mentioning the death of nine individuals by a shooter focusing on residents of migrant background in five years prior.
