I will overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be shown live on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the pair met personally to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two time world title holder Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on December 19th.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

Despite these statements, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally famous for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a fight offer.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, criticized British opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul win.

"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he showed up," the boxer stated.

"I acknowledge that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of declaring he will hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or faded names since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Nevertheless, the relative newcomer is still one of the sport's greatest financial successes, regularly earning massive paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would prevent the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.

Size Disparity

As both boxers met for the customary confrontation, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is actually going ahead.
